Episode Meet R' Noach Shapiro Cover

Meet R' Noach Shapiro

R' Jon Green interviews R' Noach Shapiro, who teaches in JSS at Yeshiva University and serves as a mashgiach in the BMP program. R' Shapiro shares his background (Upper West Side, MDS, MTA, Shaalvim, YU psychology, semicha, time in Israel, Kollel Iyun, and Yadin Kollel) and how his Chassidish roots and YU’s “how to think” framework converged in his 20s. He explains his chinuch goal as creating long-term spiritual impact by reaching students’ hearts through authentic experiences inside and outside the classroom, while still holding students accountable for effort and engagement. He describes learning Gemara and Halacha with beginners, hosting Shabbatons and meals, and his mashgiach role as creating “pockets of connectivity” that bridge head and heart, citing the Rebbe Rashab “bridge” story.

Episode Meet Rav Assaf Bednarsh Cover

Meet Rav Assaf Bednarsh

Interviewed br Rabbi Zvi Kaminetsky. Rabbi Assaf Bednarsh reflects on the people and experiences that shaped his path as a rebbe and posek. He describes his formative years at Yeshivat Har Etzion and the profound impact of Rav Aharon Lichtenstein, whose humility, intellectual rigor, joy in Torah, and deep responsibility for Klal Yisrael continue to guide his decisions. Rabbi Bednarsh shares his unconventional journey through Princeton and a brief career on Wall Street, emphasizing that a person defines his environment through commitment to Torah and integrity. Now serving in YU’s RIETS Israel Kollel, he speaks about shaping Bnei Torah who are serious, thoughtful, and sensitive, training future rabbis to communicate authentically.
