38 | Tiny Tweaks, Happy Life: Lindsay’s Interview with author, Erin Port

In this episode, Lindsay welcomes guest Erin Port from @simplepurposefulliving. As a wife and mom of 4, she has recently authored a book, Tiny Tweaks Happy Life.  In this conversation, Lindsay and Erin talk about how small changes throughout your day can help simplify your life and daily routine. It is through these small shifts that we keep the important and vital parts of our lives front and center.  For any mom out there (or dad for that matter!) who feels stressed out, overwhelmed, or feeling “not good enough,” this is the conversation for you!   Find Erin on Instagram @simplepurposefulliving Erin’s new book Tiny Tweaks, Happy Life: Simple Changes to Create Space for What Matters https://a.co/d/03C5mlMA Quick note: The audio isn't perfect on this one, but the conversation is too good not to share. Thanks for listening with grace! Episode 37 | From the Archives: The Leap of Faith That Led Us to Seminary Cover

37 | From the Archives: The Leap of Faith That Led Us to Seminary

In this throwback episode, we revisit a favorite conversation from early in Season 1 where we share the story of Eric feeling led to attend seminary, while working full-time and raising 5 kids. We talk about the fear and uncertainty that often accompany big decisions and what it looks like to trust God when the path forward isn't clear. Looking back, this step of faith became one of the most meaningful seasons of our family's life and shaped much of what we are doing today.  If you've ever sensed God prompting you toward something that feels uncertain or even a bit scary, we hope this conversation encourages you to say "yes" and step out in faith. Because, often it's in those moments of faith that we experience the Lord's goodness and faithfulness in new and incredible ways that deepen our trust in Him.  CONNECT FURTHER WITH LINDSAY: Website [https://thehousetheparksbuilt.com/] | Instagram [https://www.instagram.com/thehousetheparksbuilt/?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet] TheBuiltForMorePodcast Instagram [https://www.instagram.com/thebuiltformorepodcast?igsh=Z3VwZ3hicDk1c2x4] EMAIL: thehousetheparksbuilt@gmail.com SIGN UP FOR MY NEWSLETTER [https://thehousetheparksbuilt.myflodesk.com/rvufqa3vfp]

Episode 36 | Youth Sports and Character: Teaching Kids (and Parents) How to Handle Losing Cover

36 | Youth Sports and Character: Teaching Kids (and Parents) How to Handle Losing

Winning builds confidence but losing builds character. Youth sports provide one of the clearest opportunities for children to learn how to process disappointment, reflect on failure, and develop resilience.  In this episode, we share the experience of one of our kids facing the first loss after an undefeated volleyball season and the meaningful conversation that followed on the ride home. That moment sparked a deeper discussion about how kids and parents respond to disappointment.  We talk about why losing can be one of life's greatest teachers and refiners of character, and about the role parents play in shaping how our children process failure. In the end, youth sports aren't just about winning; they're about building character, humility, and resilience.  CONNECT FURTHER WITH LINDSAY: Website [https://thehousetheparksbuilt.com/] | Instagram [https://www.instagram.com/thehousetheparksbuilt/?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet]  TheBuiltForMorePodcast Instagram [https://www.instagram.com/thebuiltformorepodcast?igsh=Z3VwZ3hicDk1c2x4] EMAIL: thehousetheparksbuilt@gmail.com SIGN UP FOR MY NEWSLETTER [https://thehousetheparksbuilt.myflodesk.com/rvufqa3vfp]

Episode 35 | How To Get Back Up Again: Raising Resilient Kids Who Don't Quit Cover

35 | How To Get Back Up Again: Raising Resilient Kids Who Don't Quit

What do you do when your child wants to quit?  On a ski slope with one of our kids, we watched the familiar arc unfold: excitement followed by reality, frustration, self-doubt, and the strong desire to give up. But by the end of the day, something had changed.  In this episode, we talk about how growth always passes through the "mid-mountain" moment and what it looks like to walk beside your child through the frustration, without rescuing them or pushing them too hard. We discuss how to help kids build perseverance and resilience, how to encourage without pressuring, and how security and steady presence matter the most.  Ultimately, we explore the deeper truth: just as we parent our children through challenging situations, we are also children ourselves, dependent on a patient, loving Heavenly Father who never leaves our side.  If your child has ever said, "I can't," this one's for you.  CONNECT FURTHER WITH LINDSAY: Website [https://thehousetheparksbuilt.com/] | Instagram [https://www.instagram.com/thehousetheparksbuilt/?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet]  TheBuiltForMorePodcast Instagram [https://www.instagram.com/thebuiltformorepodcast?igsh=Z3VwZ3hicDk1c2x4] EMAIL: thehousetheparksbuilt@gmail.com SIGN UP FOR MY NEWSLETTER [https://thehousetheparksbuilt.myflodesk.com/rvufqa3vfp]
