Mehr How Moms Make It Work

”How do you make it all work?” That’s the question every mom whispers to another at preschool drop-off or baseball practice. As a mother of three who completely changed careers after my second child, I’ve been asking this question since my very first maternity leave. Welcome to ”How Moms Make it Work” – conversations with working mothers who do and don’t do it all. I’m Corrie Myers, and I’m bringing together incredible women from all stages of motherhood and career to share their honest journeys: when they took the promotion, when they scaled back, when they started businesses, and yes, when they burned it all down and started over. You’ll hear from new moms in the thick of it and seasoned mothers who are still figuring it out (because change really is the only constant). These fly-on-the-wall glimpses into how other mothers manage everything from childcare to therapy help us all ditch the unrealistic expectations and mom guilt about ”doing it all.” Each story serves as a permission slip to be the working mom YOU want to be, season by season. Wherever you’re at on your working mom journey, I’m so glad you’re here.

Episode EP 12: Flynn LaRochelle on working mom life as an OB-GYN Cover

EP 12: Flynn LaRochelle on working mom life as an OB-GYN

In this episode, Corrie sits down with Flynn LaRochelle, an OB-GYN and mom of three, to talk about building a career in medicine while raising small kids, the realities of postpartum while working 80-hour weeks, and how a cancer diagnosis changed everything for her family. Flynn shares what it was like to have babies during residency (and pump behind the nurses’ station!), how she and her husband divvy up life now, and the power of women borrowing bravery from each other when things feel impossibly hard. This is a tender, grounded conversation about ambition, resilience, and the decisions that shape a family. We think you’ll love it.  Corrie’s website: corriemyers.com [https://corriemyers.com] Corrie's Instagram: @corriemyers [https://instagram.com/corriemyers] Music by @johnbrazell [https://instagram.com/johnbrazell] Subscribe to How Moms Make It Work wherever you get your podcasts, and if today’s episode resonated with you, please leave a review! EP 11: Emily McDonald's Done It All (and Now Does It Differently): On Grief, Business Growth, and Letting Go

What happens when you build the thing you always wanted—and it still doesn’t feel right anymore? This week, Corrie talks with Emily McDonald: entrepreneur, business mentor, mom of two boys, and founder of The Stylist LA. Emily built a seven-figure company from her living room, raised a million dollars in venture capital, opened stores in LA and SF… and still found herself in a warehouse, pregnant and panicking, wondering, “How did I get here?” In this honest, insightful conversation, Emily shares how motherhood (and a pandemic) forced her to rethink everything—her business model, her identity, her definition of success. She opens up about grief, burnout, marriage dynamics, childcare math, and why she now guards nap time like sacred ground. It’s a conversation full of humor, clarity, and real-deal wisdom from a woman who knows chaos and has learned how to work with it, not against it. Whether you're navigating daycare drop-offs, business dreams, or just trying to figure out what’s next—you’ll find a lot to love in this one. 💡 Resources Mentioned * Emily on Instagram: solidstarts.com [https://solidstarts.com/] * Emily’s favorite workout platform: corriemyers.com [https://www.corriemyers.com] * Corrie on Instagram: @corriemyers * Music by: @johnbrazell Subscribe to How Moms Make It Work wherever you get your podcasts, and if today’s episode resonated with you, please leave a review—it helps more moms find these conversations.

EP 10: Katie Quesada on Running a Company and Keeping Family First

Storytelling consultant and speaker Katie Quesada joins Corrie to talk about the unexpected path that led her from nonprofit burnout to running a thriving company—and how she and her husband flipped the traditional script to create a family rhythm that matches their season, skills, and values.  In this episode, Katie shares how her business grew by word of mouth (and one well-timed compliment from a friend), why they decided to live tiny in order to dream big, and how they figured out the math to make it all work. She also opens up about navigating mom sadness vs. mom guilt, the tension of travel with young kids, and the constant pressure to want what someone else has—even when your heart knows better. Go moms. :)  Links! Katie’s Website: katiequesada.com Katie on Instagram: @katiequesada Corrie's Website: corriemyers.com Corrie on Instagram: @corriemyers Music Credit: @johnbrazell

Episode EP9: Ash McDonald on Burnout, Worldschooling, and Intentionally Rebuilding Cover

EP9: Ash McDonald on Burnout, Worldschooling, and Intentionally Rebuilding

Ash McDonald had all the markers of “making it”: a booked-out business, thriving clients, and a beautiful new home. But when burnout hit again, she knew something had to (really) change. This episode is for the mom who's wondering if slowing down means giving up. Ash shares what happened when she let go of hustle culture, stepped back from her business, and leaned into homeschooling and worldschooling her three kids. She talks about healing on a cellular level, working just 10 hours a week, and the emotional work of letting herself be rather than prove.  We also talk about what she’s intentionally building now, for her clients and her own family. If you’ve ever felt like burnout is something you hit over and over again, you'll thoroughly enjoy hearing Ash's wisdom on the topic.  ✨ Resources Mentioned * Ash’s Website: Here [https://ashmcdonaldmentoring.com/] * Ash on Instagram: @ashmcdonald [https://www.instagram.com/ashmcdonald] * Ash’s Podcast – Shamelessly Ambitious: Listen here [https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/shamelessly-ambitious/id1602185620] * The Burnout Breakthrough (Ash’s free 5-day audio/email series): Get it here [https://ashmcdonaldmentoring.com/burnout-breakthrough] * Fit with Coco: Here [https://fitwithcoco.com/] https://fitwithcoco.com/(Ash’s go-to workout program) * Corrie’s Website: corriemyers.com [https://corriemyers.com] * Corrie on Instagram: @corriemyers [https://www.instagram.com/corriemyers] * Music by: @johnbrazell [https://www.instagram.com/johnbrazell] Subscribe to How Moms Make It Work wherever you get your podcasts, and if today’s episode resonated with you, please leave a review—it helps more moms find these conversations. Episode EP 8: Krista Demcher on Raising Teens, Running a Business, and Redefining “Having It All” Cover

EP 8: Krista Demcher on Raising Teens, Running a Business, and Redefining “Having It All”

This week, Corrie is joined by Krista Demcher—sales coach, speaker, and mom of three—for a deeply honest (and sometimes tearful) conversation about what it really looks like to juggle parenting and purpose. Krista opens up about sending her oldest off to college and the bittersweet emotions of “lasts.” She shares how she intentionally built strong relationships with her teens, even through rocky middle school years, and how learning to repair quickly—and let go of a clean bedroom—keeps her connected to her kids. They also talk about running a business with your spouse, redefining sales as storytelling and service, and the truth behind “revenge bedtime procrastination.” (Yes, that’s a thing—and yes, she’s guilty of it too.) Whether you're navigating toddler chaos or bracing for high school drop-offs, this episode is the encouragement you need.
