Robert Jensen is a retired professor of journalism, media law and ethics from the University of Texas but he's also a life long feminist activist. His book Radical Feminism for Men is one of my favourite feminist books. We talk about male and female relationships, prostitution and pornography , white supremacy and feminists on Gaza. Sex dolls are modelled on the bodies and submission of women and allow men unlimited access to a version of a women that doesn't exist. Does this present a threat to women in real life? Palestine has made me think alot about colonial resistance and the Tamil historical fight for a nation of our own. In this episode I talk with author N. Malathy who has written Tamil Female Civil Space: Its Evolution and Decline in Tamil Eelam. In this book Malathy details the history of Tamil women's oppressions and how these women broke free from patriarchy and caste when joining the Tamil Tigers. Malathy has also written A Fleeting Moment in my Country, a personal account of living in the middle of a war on Tamil controlled areas in the North of Sri Lanka.
