Episode 03 - Kristian, the mindset of a champion

In this episode, we will be talking to Huberth Kristian Guerrero of Sunken Pleasure, Pilipinas Ultimate and Boracay Dragons Frisbee team.  We have discussed about his experience in leading his club team as well as our Pilipinas Ultimate National team both in Asia-Oceanic Beach Ultimate Championship Men's Division and Asia-Oceanic Ultimate and Guts Championship Mixed Division, where they both won the gold medals. On top of that, X was once a national athlete for wall climbing who competed in X games for 5 years. X has been part of the Ultimate Frisbee community for more than a decade already and it seems like his hunger for winning has never dropped a single bit. We have talked about how the mantra of "Discipline over Skills" has brought him and the teams that he have led over the years to multiple success. Most importantly, have a peek on what preparation they have done for last year's international competition in Japan and in China. In the end, his ultimate advice as an athlete, "Siguraduhin mo na gusto mo yung ginagawa mo kasi otherwise hindi mo siya ma-eenjoy." and "set your expectations or goals." These are his long lasting principles that kept him in the game mentally and physically.

Episode 02 - Rosario Juan, a multifaceted Chief Extractor of Coffee

In this episode, we will be talking to Ms. Ros Juan of Commune Coffee.  We have discussed a lot of things  here but we focused on how she started with coffee and her exposure in Shanghai, understanding the mind of an entrepreneur on starting the business and marketing it. We have also tackled her current project, the Frontline Feeders and how they are helping not only the medical frontliners but also the employees of the businesses they tap in this time of Pandemic. Commune can easily be overlooked as coffee shop because of its low-key design that pretty much looked like an extension of your living room which gives this coffee shop its own unique charm. But not Ros. She is someone you can certainly notice form afar as she is not afraid to be in her own skin. She is confident in who she is and what she does because she knows what she wants to achieve. She believes that to pursuit your dream cafe, you should know how to roll with the punches, develop a tolerance for failure and learn when to stop. The best customer service for her is, to make the customers have good experience while they were in the coffee shop. It's given that the food is great, coffee is great but it's more important that they are comfortable, that they enjoy it, that it's cozy for them. Overall, good experience because it's the entire thing and not just the coffee.

Also, our very own Luther Garcia, 2x Philippine Brewers Cup 1st runner up discusses how his journey in the coffee competition started and what it feels like to compete during 2019 Philippine Brewers Cup. Here, we discuss what the EKOsystem is and what is the role it plays for The Brew Life and how it will help to achieve the main goal which is to showcase competing in coffee and in life.
