Magoo is a jamgrass band out of Colorado. We got to sit down with the whole band a couple weeks back at Spring Shakedown. We talk about bluegrass becoming cool, train songs, conversations with the crowd, Magoo being a family, and sticking to the plan. Rick Willoughby is a the bass player for the band, Shakedown Strings. An all-strings tribute to the Grateful Dead. Rick tells us about opening for Oteil, hearing "American Beauty" for the first time, his jazz influences, how this project started, and being an independent artist. We talk about music therapy, the ebb and flow of finding a band, adjusting to a new sound, and hanging out with Sierra Ferrell. Erich Huffaker is the guitar player for the band, Orchestra Gold. Erich tells us about some of the history of Psychedelic Rock in Mali, and how it is being kept alive today - including his band.
