One in five new mums and one in ten new dads are affected by perinatal depression and anxiety, which impact approximately 100,000 families in Australia each year. In this conversation, Julie Borninkhof, CEO of PANDA (Perinatal Anxiety & Post Natal Depression) discusses the complexities of perinatal anxiety and depression. She highlights the importance of recognising the signs and symptoms, the impact of circumstantial factors on mental health, and the need for support. Many of us put our challenges down to other factors and early parenthood without getting the support we need. We discuss how this can impact our relationships and possible relationship breakdowns.
