96 episodesBrooke Shapiro is the mom of Jace (2018) and Rayna (2020). Her husband and children all suffer from Charcot Marie Tooth which is a degenerative nerve disease. Their son is twice exceptional which means he is 5 and cognitively a 10 year old yet emotional regulation of a 4 year old. The past 10 years she spent in Corporate America Marketing to moms and thought she knew every data point, every product (since she worked on Babies R Us) and yet she still knew nothing. When she told my manager at Clorox that she was pregnant he responded that she had gained a ton of weight and her career was over. She'd have to choose between being a great mother or a promoted employee. She ended up being laid off and decided to be a great mother! So, she started Sprinkles Parents to speak/ provide resources to help other working bay area parents. She also works as a marketing consultant for parent focused companies that support parents. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/cathy-garrett/support [https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/cathy-garrett/support]
