About Classic City Blue

Policing in the Classic City is dynamic, challenging, and rewarding. Using our Real Time Crime Center, we located a sleepwalking student roaming the streets in the early morning hours. Our chief works hand in hand with the director of a local outreach service, but once went hand to hand with him in the streets of Athens, Georgia. As one of the first agencies to establish a Behavioral Health Unit, our officers discuss the challenges and rewards of working with individuals facing mental health challenges. Learn more about our department, our employees, and their role in making Athens, Georgia, a safe place to work, live, and play.
