Description

June 6 The LORD… will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing. - Zephaniah 3:17 It was not because you were more in number than any other people that the LORD set his love on you and chose you, for you were the fewest of all peoples, but it is because the LORD loves you. - Deuteronomy 7:7-8 We love because he first loved us. - 1 John 4:19 And you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him. - Colossians 1:21-22 In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. - 1 John 4:10 God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. - Romans 5:8 Behold, a voice from heaven said, This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased. - Matthew 3:17 For this reason the Father loves me, because I lay down my life that I may take it up again. - John 10:17 His Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high. - Hebrews 1:2-3 Adapted from “Daily Light”, published by Samuel Bagster in 1875. This is a public episode. June 5 When you have done all that you were commanded, say, We are unworthy servants; we have only done what was our duty. - Luke 17:10 Then what becomes of our boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? By a law of works? No, but by the law of faith. - Romans 3:27 What do you have that you did not receive? If then you received it, why do you boast as if you did not receive it? - 1 Corinthians 4:7 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. - Ephesians 2:8-10 By the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me. - 1 Corinthians 15:10 For from him and through him and to him are all things. - Romans 11:36 All things come from you, and of your own have we given you. - 1 Chronicles 29:14 Adapted from “Daily Light”, published by Samuel Bagster in 1875.
