There are two natural extremes in religion- to indulge the flesh or to restrict with rules and regulations. God calls us, not to follow the flesh or a code, but to follow our Lord Jesus. This is the new way in the Spirit. The new way in the Spirit is to use the freedom in Christ to one another. Let’s listen to this message from Galatians 5:13-15.

Galatians 5:7-12 Obstacles to Freedom

What beautiful freedom and relationship there is in walking with Jesus! It stands unique from every religion and moralistic code of living. Maybe you are asking what it looks like to walk with Him or why those who follow Him sometimes lose sight of the freedom and joy Jesus offers. Galatians 5:1 Stand Firm in Freedom

Galatians 5:1 tells us that it is for freedom Christ has set us free. Paul continues with a warning, “stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by the yoke of slavery.” We are no longer slaves burdened under obligation to a code, but sons and daughters, walking with our perfect hero, our Father, in a loving apprenticeship to become like Him.
