27 episodesBig news in the world of Mormonism—sleeveless temple garments are officially here! This comes after past rumors, like the so-called “Cuppa Joseph” coffee allowance, but this time, it’s real. The Salt Lake Tribune has verified the introduction of these sleeveless options, though the global rollout timeline remains unclear. While some members welcome the change as a step toward more practical, breathable clothing, others see it as yet another sign of shifting doctrine. For a church that teaches it is led by divine revelation, critics are raising concerns: If God is really at the helm, why does doctrine seem to evolve based on cultural and member feedback? Is this modernization inspired revelation, or simply the church trying to keep up with the times? It raises deeper questions about authority, consistency, and what happens when members start wondering whether God or human influence is behind these changes. Let’s discuss—what do you think? Does this shift help the church adapt, or does it create more doubt about its divine guidance?
As a continuation to our episode on excommunication, and in light of the impending excommunication of Nemo the Mormon, we wanted to share this legendary talk by Jeremy Runnells, given at his own disciplinary council in 2016. From CESletter.org: CES Letter is one Latter-day Saint's honest quest to get official answers from the LDS Church on its troubling origins, history, and practices. Jeremy Runnells was offered an opportunity to discuss his own doubts with a director of the Church Educational System (CES) and was assured that his doubts could be resolved. After reading Jeremy's letter, the director promised him a response. No response ever came. From Hans Mattsson: “Runnells’ CES Letter presents many historical issues concerning LDS history, which for many members has been a wake-up call. The letter deserves to be read, both in and out of the LDS community. Read with an open mind and you will understand why many members are asking questions.” https://cesletter.org --- WELCOME TO FAITH UNRAVELED: TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@faith.unraveled?_t=8kISaVAOq9j&_r=1 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/faith.unraveled?igsh=NGVhN2U2NjQ0Yg%3D%3D&utm_source=qr We invite you to join us on our journey of unraveling the complexities of Mormonism after a lifetime within the church.
