He discussed the challenges of the immigration process and his career progression from San Antonio to MD Anderson. His initial  work in neurosciences and oncology, specifically using functional MRI techniques, was interrupted by a break from career to care for his son and led to an exploration of non-clinical roles, including completing a program from Harvard Business School. This episode emphasizes the need of developing a mindset towards taking risks and being open to opportunities due to globalization and exposure to different cultures.
