Episode 14 With the uber-Powerful, Morgan McCarver. Today on the show, we've got an inspiring story of resilience and artistic transformation. Morgan is a rising star in the ceramics world and a published Author, but her journey started in a completely different place. (Sound of ballet shoes scraping the floor) Morgan was a dedicated dancer, but a scoliosis surgery forced her to hang up her dancing shoes. Devastated, she needed a new creative outlet. (Sound of pottery wheel turning) Enter clay! Morgan took a summer pottery class, it was creative love at first spin. That spark ignited a passion that led her to get a degree in ceramics and even win the Outstanding Art Major Ceramics Award. Morgan's not just talented, she's driven. She runs her own business, Morgan McCarver Porcelain, with studios in both Asheville and Spartanburg. Her beautiful work has been featured in galleries and exhibitions all over the US, including three solo shows with titles that just beg you to see them – "FemininiTEA," "The Strength of a Wildflower," and even "Postures in Porcelain." And the accolades keep coming! Morgan recently received a North Carolina Arts Council Artist Support Grant, and her floral designs are so unique, they're copyrighted!
