Reiki-infused Guided Meditation for Anxiety
Just for today, I will not worry.
Here's what you need to know about this Reiki Principle:
Since worry causes anxiety, following this principle can treat and prevent anxiety. And, since Meditation is also an excellent tool for combatting the anxiety monster, this Reiki-infused Guided Meditation for Anxiety is a fabulous solution for anxiety.
Reiki-infused guided meditations combine all the benefits of Reiki with all the benefits of Meditation to combine into the perfect addition to your routine, whether or not you want to learn Reiki. You can think of it as adding a couple of shots of positive energy to balance your chakras and be healthier.
You can use this Reiki-infused guided Meditation for anxiety once, or you can come back to it multiple times. It will be effective every time, indefinitely. You will not only receive the benefits of your Meditation and the benefits of channeling Reiki, but you will also benefit immensely from the Reiki healing energy that I channel to you.
According to Very Well Mind, part of this guided Meditation includes Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR), which is a technique created by Edmund Jacobson around the 1920s. Jacobson observed his patients' difficulty relaxing in general and relaxing tension areas during appointments. To help his patients develop tension awareness so they can target the tension and let go of it and experience a relaxed state, Edmund guided them through PMR, which includes tensing and relaxing targeted muscle groups in a systematic matter.
PMR works by combatting the flight-or-fight response and taming it with the relaxation response. Sadly a constant state of fight-or-flight negatively impacts your health on all levels. Physical symptoms of stress and anxiety include tension, muscle pain, and stiffness. The benefits of PMR include a calm mind, lower heart rate, and less bodily tension. Perhaps one of the greatest benefits of progressive muscle relaxation is that it forces you to slow down long enough for your mind and body to release anxious thoughts. Very Well, Mind says you target the source of the anxiety so you can work through it- not just a temporary fix.
The method at the root of the efficacy of PMR and responsible for the relief from physical and emotional stress is tightening and releasing tension from targeted muscle groups. It is great for when you feel anxious, worried, or when rumination pops by for a visit.
Before starting, check out these tips for an effective guided meditation.
Choose a time when you will not be hurried.
Close your eyes and relax.
Use the 5-count breath-
5-count inhale through the nose, 5-count hold, and 5-count exhale through the mouth.
Do not stress over the imagery. If you see it, you see it. If you do not see it, you are still receiving Reiki healing. If you want to improve your ability to visualize the imagery in guided meditations, practice regularly.
Be prepared by pulling up the event that triggered your anxiety in your mind. Optionally, if you are unsure of the trigger, sit for a minute in silence and see what your intuition tells you. Either way, this exercise will reduce anxiety so you can feel good again.
