From Incarceration to Inspiration: A Legacy of Change with Matthew Stephens

No better way to open season 3 than with a story of God's redemptive plan and purpose exuded in the life of my brother in Christ, Matthew Stephens. We sat down twice over Zoom (the second time due to a loss of signal on the first call, as Matt was inside a prison working with inmates, doing what he did best), and I learned his awesome story of recovery, re-entry and redemption after spending more than 15 years of his life incarcerated. He opened up about the realities of life in prison, the challenges of bettering oneself before reintegration into society, and the determination it takes to rebuild a life from the ground up. We discuss his journey through inmate education programs, including his experience with Pathway to Freedom, and how those opportunities helped reshape his mindset and prepare him for a successful transition back into the community. Matthew speaks candidly about overcoming a past shaped by poor decisions, navigating substance use disorder recovery, and the importance of faith in discovering a renewed purpose. His story is a powerful example of how prison re-entry programs, mentorship, and spiritual growth can transform lives. In 2025, Matthew was heavily involved in communities across Arkansas, determined to live out his purpose of giving back; from volunteering with nonprofits and encouraging others facing incarceration, to battling addiction recovery and re-entry challenges, he used his voice to inspire hope across The Natural State and beyond. One of the most impactful moments in this conversation is his reflection on finding God and committing to a path of purpose, service, and personal growth. Following his tragic passing in December 2025, this episode serves as both a tribute and a testament to the resilience of the human spirit. Matthew’s story reminds us that second chances, rehabilitation, and personal transformation are possible, and, even in a short time, a life redirected can make a lasting impact. Whether you’re interested in criminal justice reform, prisoner re-entry, substance use disorder and recovery, faith-based transformation, or personal development, this conversation offers powerful insights into what it truly means to overcome adversity and create a meaningful life after incarceration. Please comment, review, and share it so Matthew's story can inspire people and help his legacy live on for years to come. #inspiration #redemption #legacy #aliferemembered #resilience #wedorecover #recoverytestimony #truth #faith #God

Take Messy Action with Lauren Robertson

Have you ever kept your New Year's Resolution? Don't worry... it's like finding a needle in a haystack looking for THAT person! Do you feel like you won't be happy until you hit that magic number on your bathroom scales? We all have an "ideal weight" but it's not the way to measure your sense of self-worth, much less let it affect you mentally when you don't see your "perfect" self physically in the mirror. TAKE. MESSY. ACTION. God built you in HIS image, so remember something as you listen to this episode -- health, happiness and the scale don't have to go hand-in-hand. 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV): "But he said to me, 'My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.' Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me."I implore you to rely on the power of perseverance as you begin or continue your fitness journey. Whether that's making better meal choices, implementing some type of workout routine, drinking more water, WHATEVER that looks like for you, press on with the power in you through the Holy Spirit. #SpotLightWithBritt #SLWB #Faith #Hope #Perseverance #Determination #Dedication #GodIsGood #Health #Happiness

episode Faith by Works with Jay Strydom artwork

Faith by Works with Jay Strydom

How strong is your faith? How convicted are you in that faith to make choices that would mirror those of Jesus? Have you ever heard the Bible verse in James 2:17? " Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead." In this episode of Spot Light with Britt, she interviews Jarrod "Jay" Strydom of the Faith For Work Podcast and learns about the impact of choices on a young man's heart and how praying to God for answers resonated with him in his younger days. "You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only." (James 2:24) We all have free will, and, each time we are given another day to do better that the day before, we get to choose - right or wrong? Did you notice what I did there? "Do Better" is the name of a past podcast episode you should listen to, if you haven't already. "For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also." (James 2:26) Visit the website for Biblical Business Training, the non-profit for which Jay works, at b-b-t.org for more information about how you can get involved and bring faith into your workplace, integrating worship and praise of the LORD into the culture of your business or organization. #faith #hope #perseverance #God #love #freewill #community #podcast #interview

The Importance of Family

In this episode about "The Importance of Family," Britt interviews author and speaker, Randall Haug, about why he believes in putting family first and living as a servant leader for Christ. Britt and Randall met at C-Suite for Christ - Little Rock in February 2025 where they fellowship and network with like-minded business professionals and followers of Christ on the first Tuesday of every month in Alexander, Arkansas. The mission of this organization is "Covering the World in Christ," and the Little Rock Chapter will have Randall as the speaker at their meeting in June 2025. As you listen to this episode, don't forget that, even when you feel alone or lost, your Father, GOD, is right there with you through the valleys. We are all called to be brothers and sisters in Christ, showing kindness to everyone we meet.
