After eight years, hundreds of episodes, and only three death threats (that we know of), it's time to say goodbye to The Disclaimer. Awww. We know! All things must pass, even weekly WMSE talk shows. For the last time, Ryan, Evan, and Matt get together to talk about the relationship between critics and artists, the evolution of Milwaukee and Milwaukee pride, and how Twitter is like attacking chickens in The Legend Of Zelda. Of course, they also discuss the history of their show and how it has evolved over the years. Plus, what's up with the trailer for that Sonic The Hedgehog movie? But seriously: thanks to everyone for listening all these years, and thanks to the incomparable WMSE for giving us this incredible platform (and for putting up with our occasional shit). We made history! This was important! Thank you!

Let's talk about the fight over the Marcus Center's "historic" grove of chestnut trees

If you haven't been keeping up with the increasingly heated and hilariously passive-aggressive fight over the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts' suddenly controversial grove of chestnut trees, well, you're not alone. But there are folks who care passionately about this fight, so here we go. Evan fills Ryan and Matt in on the whole ordeal, from the Marcus Center's initial redevelopment plans to the Historic Preservation Committee's decision to "award" the site permanent historic designation. Are preservation advocates trying to preserve a history that's already lost, as Evan claims? What about the Marcus Center's clear disdain for the chestnut grove? What about accessibility issues? And why is there suddenly a chain link fence surrounding an area that, six months ago, no one thought twice about?

Let's talk about the DNC, the Domes, and Downtown

No big surprises for this week's show: Ryan, Evan, and Matt talk about the Democratic National Convention (coming to Milwaukee in 2020!), the Mitchell Park Domes (joining forces with the Milwaukee Public Museum?), and Downtown (doing just great!). Also, Matt is totally right that moving the museum out of Downtown is a dumb, non-starter idea.
