Holly K. Dunn Pendelton is the sole survivor of the serial killer known as The Railroad Killer. In this special episode of You Should Be Here, we had the privilege of sitting down with Holly to hear her powerful story — surviving the attack, writing her memoir Sole Survivor, and dedicating her life to helping others reclaim theirs. One of Holly’s most impactful contributions is Holly’s House, a non-residential child and adult victim advocacy center originally envisioned by Officer Turpin and brought to life with Holly’s help. Despite severe injuries, she called 911 and survived. The case exposed major flaws in private security oversight and led to industry reforms. At just 17, Lisa McVey was kidnapped by a serial killer Bobby Joe Long. Lisa didn’t just survive, she outsmarted him.
