Ep. 59: Chad Munroe - Faith Overcame It All

In episode 58 of the podcast, I talk with Chad Munroe, a Navy EOD Senior Chief (ret) who served 20 years and was a part of one of the Navy's elite commands, where he deployed many times. Before the Navy, Chad was a top US Taekwondo competitor, narrowly missing a spot on the Olympic team. While he faced many struggles throughout his life, Chad makes clear on the podcast that what pulled him through was his faith in God. Ep. 58: Jerron Clark - Songwriting With Soldiers

Episode 58 is a little different. It's a solo with just me. Back in September of 2025 I was honored to participate in a retreat put on by the EOD Warrior Foundation and Songwriting With Soldiers. This episode is solely dedicated to how that retreat affected me. Spoiler, it affected me alot. A short episode but one with a lot of feelings. I share the song I wrote with an amazing professional songwriter, Mark Nesler, for my family. I discuss why I wanted to write this song and how Mark was able to pull the words that I wanted to say from me in a way that expressed the feelings that are often times so hard to put into works. We also wrote a community song. The eight of us who participated opened up on what brought us all there and the shared purpose that we felt. Ep. 57: Stephen Phillips - Historian and Author

In episode 57, I talk with retired EOD Commander Stephen Phillips. We discuss his time in the surface Navy as a SWO, Surface Warfare Officer, where he pursued the EOD special program he ultimately joined. SGM(ret) Mike Vining had a legendary career in the Army first as Army EOD then as a Delta Force Operator. With medals from around the world and stories to match he is an absolute professional warrior with a humble and giving spirit. One of my favorite parts of my talk with SGM Vining was his passion for reviving the history of EOD and telling the stories of those who have past. In addition to his extensive career, Mike now spends a good amount of time researching EOD techs from the past, digging through records so that they are not forgotten.
