Here we will explore the growing number of Gen X'ers who are "peacing out" quitting jobs, quitting the rat race and fining some semblance of serenity in the post covid/ post 9/11 melee of culture. It seems we will retire before Boomers do!  Scott and his partner have chosen to sell their house in America, sell most of their belongings, quit their jobs and move to Puerto Rico "retire" and start up their own jet ski tourism business.  The host of Gen X-odus is leaving as well, thus the genesis of the podcast name. It is a strange world we live in and the constant fatigue from social media, news and politics are ample reasons for a mass exodus to take place in the coming years. What exactly is the "writing" on the wall through our eyes?  How has the "woke' culture and "Q-Anon right" put us in a nebulous center of confusion?!

And from our perspective, what attributes define our generation and why. In this episode we will hit on top points from Bruce Cannon Gibney's book A Generation of Sociopaths: How the Baby Boomers Betrayed America.  What were the "Bill of Goods" we were sold while growing up? And why in our 40s and 50s do Boomers not pass the mantle and let us move into positions of power? We will address job scarcity because Boomers will not retire (case in point Congress/albeit many are The Silent Generation as well) Boomers policies have not set us up for success and their collective denial of issues like climate change attribute to Gibney's points. Their collective ignorance of creating debt has left following generations a mess to deal with.  If there's one thing Millennials, Gen Z and Gen X can agree on...the Boomers need to retire and let us evolve!
