Descripción

In this week's episode, David and Alicia discuss the parts their lives that can feel a lot like its on repeat.  They talk about patterns they find themselves in and describe some of life's loops they find themselves going around and around in.   From the importance to never forgetting your shopping list to second lunch, Alicia and David look at the times they have gone in circles and have worked their way out of the constant loops that could have kept them stuck in the same place over and over.  REFERENCE: Romans 7:15-16 [https://www.bible.com/bible/111/ROM.7.15-16.NIV] Thank you for listening to Life at the Table! The Ring Is Gone!

In this week's episode, we talk about the emotional weight we place on things. From wedding rings to baseball tickets, we see just how much value we put into stuff; which sometimes makes us think that the stuff has more value than the memory or the moment they are connected to.  Alicia talks about (David) losing her wedding ring and how she grieved it when she (David) lost it but realized that the ring didn't hold the moment, the memories or the feelings but it was just a symbol of them.  We look at what Jesus says about earthly possessions and tie it together with our personal experiences.  REFERENCE: Matthew 6:19-20 [https://www.bible.com/bible/59/MAT.6.19-20.ESV] Thanks for joining us for Life at the Table.  If you've been one to pull up a chair and join us around our table, please leave a review, give us a 5 star rating, like us wherever you get your favorite podcasts or share us with a friend.  For more information, visit us at hartstudios.org [https://hartstudios.org/].

Who's Steering Your Ship?

This week, Alicia and David talk about influence again but with a little twist. We look into the importance of monitoring the influence that other things have on your life.  David and Alicia remember people and examples in their own lives that have shown positive influence just by the way that people live their life.  David and Alicia discuss the difference that 1 degree of bad influence can have in your life.   From "Lord of the Rings" references to real-life circumstances, David and Alicia breakdown the ways people (and things) can have influence, often unintentionally. Sourdough Era

In this weeks episode, we talk about sourdough.  And in true Alicia fashion, she finds an awesome way to tie the process that sourdough takes and apply it to our lives. Just like sourdough, life takes patience.  Allow God to work in you what he wants.  "Stop and smell the roses" comes to mind as David breaks down the thought of applying this process to his own life.   This episode truly is a glimpse into what we talk about around our table.  Its biblical, nerdy and completely acceptable for a gluten free diet! Failure Doesn't Cancel Calling

In this longer-than-normal episode, we learn that God can love us far beyond our failures.  We discuss Peter and his denial of Jesus and Jesus loving Peter anyway.  We give a detailed look into David's testimony, specifically how despite his best efforts, he could not disqualify himself from God's love for him or the plans God set in motion when he was just 15 years old.   We look at God forming both Peter and David in the darkest of times by setting pride aside and becoming dependent on God.  Alicia and David talk about the importance of having honest people who mean well surround you and allowing God to give you boldness to do what He wants you to do. Reference: Luke 22 [https://www.bible.com/bible/59/LUK.22.ESV] John 21 [https://www.bible.com/bible/59/JHN.21.ESV] If you've been in a dark place, feeling like God couldn't be farther from where you are.  If anxiety, turmoil or fear reside in your heart where the peaceful grace and mercy of the Lord should be, consider turning back, you'll find Jesus there waiting for you with open arms. Talk to a trusted friend or pastor at your church, seek truth by reading your bible.   Don't forget to give us a review, like and share the show and visit us at hartstudios.org [https://hartstudios.org/] to learn more about who we are and what we believe.  Thanks for listening!

Portada del episodio Let Me Fix That

Let Me Fix That

In this episode we discuss Alicia's deep seeded desire to fix every problem she sees in the moment they present themselves.  We also discuss the David's approach to problems and how he takes the time (sometimes too much time) to make sure he gets it right.   We discuss how neither approach is wrong but how its important to be aware of your tendencies so growth can occur.  We witness in real time as David responds to Alicia after taking a few moments to consider his response.   So whether you are a fixer or a thinker always remember that there is often more than one way to do things and the other ways are not always wrong, just different.   REFERENCE Ecclesiastes 7:29 [https://www.bible.com/bible/111/ECC.7.29.NIV] Thank you for joining us on Life at the Table (Do it Dave's way).  If this has been something that has brought you joy, insight or a simple nod of agreement, please consider sharing us with someone special in your life!
