Birth of Isaac and Testing of Abraham

Abraham's journey to sainthood is a model for us all. God asks all of us to trust in Him completely, so He can make possible what is impossible for us as humans. In this Profile of a Saint, we see how Abraham struggled just as we all do. He wavered in his trust in God, took control, and suffered the consequences of sin. Episode 6: Abraham's Call

In this episode of Making Great Saints, Dr. Fonseca shares the story of the call of Abraham. This call required great trust and faith on the part of Abram (later named Abraham by God) and his wife, Sarah. This story of faith involves leaving behind family, moving to a foreign land, and trusting God when He promised Abraham his descendants would be as numerous as the stars in the sky (Genesis 15:5), even though Sarah was past her child-bearing years. Ultimately, we see how for Abraham and Sarah to remain faithful, God had to be the center of their lives. Episode 5: The Dominion of Sin and Darkness

In this episode, you will hear how chapters 3-6 in the Book of Genesis portray a very dark and dismal picture of the destruction of sin in human life. From the first sin of Adam and Eve to the murder of Abel by his brother Cain to the continuation of violence in Cain’s lineage, we see how sin has taken root in the hearts of mankind and the destruction it leaves in its wake. However, God’s plan for salvation will not be thwarted.
