Introduction to The Parent Gardener - a family forest where harmony can grow from diversity

This channel was designed in my heart early on in 2019 for parents of teenagers from age 11 upwards. Thanks to the demands of my Toastmaster project, I completed The Parent Gardener podcast project during lockdown in 2020, right here from South Africa! You could even say that the seed grew silently in my heart and now has sprouted!  I am the proud mom of a Gen Z daughter, a youth mentor, parent coach and a trauma facilitator and counsellor. Becoming a parent is a wonderful experience that begins with an assault on our senses, sleeping patterns, finances and everything we thought we knew! Parenting disrupts the general rhythm of our life and we begin to realize that the journey is AS exciting as it is challenging. Where is that manual for toddlers when you need it - not to mention a teenager manual for exasperated parents?! I will be sharing shorter shownotes as we go along but for this introduction you need more info to know what to expect further on : Expect topics such as identity, introversion, leadership, influence, teen tantrums, parenting style conflicts, communication, boundaries, visionary focus, family trauma. alienation, miscarriage, narcissistic parenting, bullying and more. These wonderful tools for parenting, support and grow your parenting skills and partner relationships and help you identify if you are growing weeds or seeds in your child's heart! Learn the skills of how to stand back and reflect, adapt or renew your approach.  After all, as parents we share a common goal: we love our children and want to improve the outcomes of our relationships with our teens and their ability to be loving, effective parents to our grandchildren! Parent couples who grow a high level of intimate communication are a supportive foundation for the family forest and ultimately, even single parents such as myself can be better equipped to Nurture, Discipline and Mentor the variety of diverse tree types growing in our family forest.
