One word  - Racism. It's something that most likely everyone on the planet has at least heard about if not been affected by. It's controversial, illogical, and dividing. There are few professions that have been the cause of as much controversy, public outrage, and societal change as that of a Police Officer.  It's obvious that it's not an easy profession by any means and requires a certain individual with certain innate qualities to perform this profession successfully. Since this is such a large topic it is broken up in two parts.
