Kuvaus

“The folks at the Masonic Cancer Center were so incredible. I knew I had the best team, the best care, and the best treatment at my disposal.”  Emma Dimery shares her remarkable story of a colon cancer diagnosis at age 23 and how a decade of uncertainty was aided by the power of human connection.  “There’s no reward for suffering in silence or not wanting to burden friends or family.”  The Dimerys discuss the importance of advocating for yourself, prioritizing what’s important in life, and finding joy in simple things.

Episode 127: Connection & Direction (ft. David Graham)

“Are you ready? The work’s about to start.” This week in the Masonic Lounge, we welcome David Graham back for a thoughtful conversation on leadership, service, and the enduring role of Masonic poetry in shaping who we are and what we aspire to become. David reflects on the joy of watching others succeed, the fragility of honor, and the delicate balance of remaining an active and supportive Past Master without overstepping. Along the way, he shares insights gained through years of service and explains why, at the heart of meaningful leadership, “the only secret is to care.” David Graham is a Past Master of Wayzata Lodge No. 205 (2018) and is currently serving his second term as Grand Orator. Join us for an engaging discussion on mentorship, purpose, and the values that continue to inspire Masons in their work today.

Episode 125: The Road Ahead (ft. Shawn Carrick)

This week we’re honored to welcome MWGM Shawn Carrick to the studio for a meaningful conversation on the heart of Masonry. Together, we explore everything from the importance of Masonic travel and the lasting relationships it builds, to strengthening community visibility and embracing our shared sense of purpose. “We need to get back to the basics of Masonry, and be there for each other, in word and deed.” Our Grand Master offers inspiring insight into Masonic fundamentals, the obligations we’ve taken to support one another, and the responsibility we carry to lead by example as mentors within our gentle Craft. “We can all be better, but it requires constant effort to make that rough ashlar more perfect and truly try to be better.” Join us for an uplifting discussion centered on brotherhood, service, and the timeless values that continue to shape Freemasonry today.

Episode 123: 18:53 Working Tools Series - More Members!

After World War II, Freemasonry in the U.S. exploded in size—membership climbed to over four million by the late 1950s. But that wasn’t unique. Similar booms had happened before, and each time, the same issue followed. The organization wasn’t built to handle rapid growth, and the system couldn’t keep up. And when the surge ended, membership didn’t stabilize—it declined for years. The real question isn’t why it grew—it’s why people didn’t stay. As numbers increased, the experience thinned out. The focus shifted to numbers over substance, and attempts to boost membership (like lowering standards) didn’t fix the problem. Now there’s a shift toward something different: smaller, more engaged lodge communities focused on meaning, not just numbers. In the end, growth doesn’t sustain an organization—what matters is the experience people have once they’re in.
