The Small Machine Talks is a monthly conversation that explores the poetry scene of Central Canada and beyond. Its hosts are Ottawa poets, Amanda Earl and a.m. kozak. Ottawa poet and fiction writer, Frances Boyle and I discuss the poetry of favourite novels and read excerpts from the novels. This is the fourth instalment of a thread that began in 2020 in which I invite a guest to discuss the poetic elements of a genre or type of creative work that is not classified as poetry. In 2020, I discussed the poetry of music with Subhraj Singh, in 2021, the poetry of film with Jennifer Mulligan and in 2022 the poetry of photography with Charles Earl.
