Clare Patients Encouraged To Take Part In National Inpatient Survey

If you've spent 24 hours or more as an inpatient in a public hospital during the month of May, you may have received a text message inviting you to take part in the National Inpatient Experience Survey.    The survey gives patients an opportunity to share their experiences of hospital care, and the feedback is used to help improve services across the country.     So far, almost 800 patients in Clare have been invited to participate, but the survey remains open until the 24th of July.     Tracy O'Carroll, Deputy Director of HIQA's National Care Experience Programme joined Alan Morrissey earlier to explain why every response matters.  Image (c) YourExperience.ie

Willie Clancy Summer School Kicks Off

Clare FM’s Therese McInerney has once again taken a trip to the Willie Clancy Summer School.  Scoil Samhraidh Willie Clancy is, of course, the week-long summer school in traditional music and set dance held annually at Miltown Malbay, Co. Listener Seeks Advice On Possible Wasps Nest

At this time of year, many people may begin noticing more wasps around their homes and gardens, and sometimes that raises concerns about whether there's a nest nearby.   One of our listeners got in touch after spotting what he believes could be a wasps' nest on his property, and he's looking for some advice. Joseph Brody, a Morning Focus listener, found a possible nest of wasps in Kilnamona. To help answer his questions, Alan Morrissey was also joined by John Roche from Curtin Pest Control here in Clare. Will Donald Trump Visit Doonbeg For The Irish Open?

The countdown is on to one of the biggest sporting events ever to come to West Clare.   Around 70,000 spectators are expected to attend the Irish Open at Trump International Golf Links in Doonbeg this September, and now US President Donald Trump has said he is thinking of travelling to Clare to attend the tournament and watch the world's top golfers, including Rory McIlroy.   What could that mean for the local community in Doonbeg, for tourism, and for the village itself?   To discuss it, Alan Morrissey was joined by Doonbeg Fianna Fáil Councillor, Rita McInerney, and Tommy Comerford, Doonbeg community activist.
