Are insects the sustainable food source of the future? Find out if eating bugs will save the planet. 0:00 Introduction: Should we eat bugs? 0:47 Are bugs a good alternative protein source? 2:11 Bugs vs. beef 2:35 Insects and pathogens 4:12 Check out my video on what you SHOULD be eating for your health! In this video, we’re going to take a look at edible bugs as an alternative protein source. Some say that we should be eating bugs by 2050 because of the growing population. Some blame climate change or claim that beef is not sustainable and that we need to find other sources of food. One hundred grams of bugs contains about 12 grams of protein, 5 grams of fat, and 5 grams of carbs. If we were to eat insects as food, we’d need to eat 4x to 8x this amount to get enough protein! It could become quite expensive to consume this many bugs each day. The cost of edible insects could be lowered by lowering the quality of what they’re fed, but then the bugs will be less nutritious with less protein. Eating insects would also require people to give up their cultural and traditional foods which is not likely. When you compare bugs to beef, insects do not come close in terms of protein or nutritional value. Insects also carry pathogens. A 2019 study evaluated several cricket farms that were developing edible insects. Around 81% of the crickets had parasites and 30% were potentially pathogenic. There's also a higher incidence of worms, viruses, bacteria, and fungus in crickets. If you have an allergy to shellfish, you may also have an allergy to edible insects because they contain a similar protein. Bugs have an exoskeleton mainly composed of chitin which is an antinutrient and can not be digested by our microbiome. Chitin also blocks vitamins A and E. #keto #ketodiet #weightloss #ketolifestyle Thanks for watching! I hope this increases your awareness about the reality of eating insects. I’ll see you in the next video. Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio: Dr. Berg, age 59, is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis & Intermittent Fasting. episode The SURPRISING #1 Cause of High Blood Pressure artwork

The SURPRISING #1 Cause of High Blood Pressure

High blood pressure is not a disease! Learn how to lower blood pressure with dietary changes and increased intake of specific nutrients that act as natural blood pressure remedies in the body. Address the root cause of hypertension rather than just treating the symptoms. Watch this episode next: Reset Your Body in 5 Days (With Zero Food) [https://open.spotify.com/episode/4oKZ046rIAE3zwxDb06ZaO] 0:00 Introduction: What causes high blood pressure? 1:15 Blood pressure explained 2:10 How to lower blood pressure and address nutritional deficiencies 2:38 Natural blood pressure remedies 4:33 Fixing insulin resistance to lower blood pressure Over 90% of hypertension is labeled as having an unknown cause, which is very profitable for drug companies. The endothelial layer of your arteries has insulin receptors. When these receptors are damaged, your blood pressure can increase. Too much insulin allows too much calcium to enter the cells, so calcium channel blockers are often used to lower high blood pressure. However, the connection between insulin resistance and high blood pressure is usually ignored. A protective shield called the glycocalyx typically covers the endothelial tissue on the inside of your arteries. When this shield becomes damaged, it can cause a cascade of problems, including cellular damage, inflammation, calcium buildup, and excess clotting. The glycocalyx is vulnerable to damage from glucose and fructose. A low-carb diet and intermittent fasting can help you get healthy and lower your blood pressure quickly. Insulin resistance creates serious nutritional deficiencies that must also be addressed to lower blood pressure. To help reverse high blood pressure, increase the following nutrients: •Vitamin D •Magnesium glycinate •Potassium •Sulfur To fix insulin resistance and lower blood pressure, it’s important to avoid carbohydrates, sugar, starch, and seed oils. Remember that it may take a few weeks to notice blood pressure changes. A food log can help keep you on track. If your blood pressure is decreasing, but you notice that the top number remains high, focus on reducing stress. Ensure you sleep enough, take long walks, or try ashwagandha to lower your stress levels. Morning knee pain doesn’t actually start in the morning. It often begins in the middle of the night, leading to knee pain and knee stiffness that can last 30–60 minutes after you wake up. Knee inflammation may also interfere with deep, restful sleep. If you have knee pain in the morning, try these simple knee pain exercises before getting out of bed: 1. Ankle pumps 2. Heel slides 3. Quad sets Research has found that microbes from dental infections may travel through the bloodstream and have been associated with inflammation in the arteries and joints, making oral health an important part of overall joint health. In addition to knee pain exercises, focus on supporting a healthy inflammatory response. Turmeric and vitamin D may help support healthy knee joints. For best results, take vitamin D with its cofactors: vitamin K2 and magnesium. Supporting healthy insulin levels may also help promote a healthy inflammatory response. Improving quadriceps strength is one of the best ways to support healthy knees. Sit-to-stand exercises are a simple way to strengthen the quadriceps and hamstrings while improving knee stability and function. Today, I’m going to share how to get rid of acid reflux naturally. Acid reflux is a situation where you have acid being regurgitated into the esophagus. The top cause of acid reflux is a deficiency of acid in the stomach. The common treatments for acid reflux or heartburn may help someone feel better temporarily, but they aren't good long-term solutions. They also come with side effects. It’s crucial that the stomach has the right pH. The normal pH of the stomach should be between one and three, which is very acidic. We need high acidity in the stomach to help break down proteins, absorb vitamins and minerals, and kill pathogens. The hydrochloric acid in your stomach helps with the release of bile from the gallbladder. It also helps stimulate the pancreas, which supports digestion. You need certain nutrients to make a sufficient amount of hydrochloric acid, including zinc, chlorides, and potassium. It’s also important to keep in mind that having too much calcium can cause GERD. How to stop acid reflux naturally: 1. Take betaine hydrochloride 2. Get plenty of potassium and sea salt 3. Get plenty of zinc 4. Chew your food longer 5.
