Faith in Suffering and beyond Doubt
We all have our moments of doubt. It could be an unpleasant interaction on the street, a cancelled train, a misunderstanding with a close friend… Sometimes it goes deeper than that – the illness that keeps us stuck in the same spot, or the recurring pattern that keeps coming back. In moments like these, it all becomes about handling the emotion. Fear, anxiety, anger, frustration, desperation; we get so caught up in our feelings, and in this moment, it feels like we’re all alone in this experience, and it shall be like this forever. It is very natural for us to live out of survival, and along the way, we drift further and further away from the true reason we came here. When one has to endure any kind of suffering, it becomes extremely hard to see the broader picture. We begin to look for an explanation, for begin to compare ourselves to others, and we begin to doubt more and more with each new day. But what if instead of looking for a justification, we accepted the things for what they are? To be alive is to suffer, but not everything is suffering.
