Karen Harvey MBE, Founder & Director, Shutter Hub

Karen Harvey MBE, the founder and director of the photography organisation Shutter Hub, is Aaron Syposz's guest on this edition. Shutter Hub runs exhibitions and publishes photo books with a range of themes, and has a focus on giving a platform to new talent. Karen and Aaron discuss the organisation's goals, what advice she would give to budding photographers, and the Shutter Hub Open 2026, which you can visit in the Alison Richard Building on Sidgwick Site until April 2nd. In this episode, Gerry Schmit explores Cambridge City Council's official move away from chemical-based weed management in the city, which took place last month. He speaks to a group who working with the council in its project to abandon herbicides, and takes a look at what it takes to liven up the lawn of a Cambridge college. Jazz Emu, comedian and musician

In February, Cam FM's Aaron Syposz spoke to Archie Henderson, the man behind the Jazz Emu, a vain, lycra-covered musician famous for his europop-infused hits about everything from the etymology of the word "pineapple" to pretending to be asleep to get out of paying for things (maybe don't try that one at home). Archie is an ex-Cambridge Footlight, so knows the city well. He was particularly stoked to be performing at the Cambridge Junction, which he describes as "a step up from the ADC"! In this interview, Aaron and Archie talk about Jazz's new show, Knight Fever, AI in comedy, Cambridge life and much more besides. Esther Magedera, Clarissa's Campaign President

Cam FM is supporting Clarissa's Campaign for Cambridge Hearts for its Lent Bumps coverage this year, so here's another chance to hear Anouk Waller-Sargent's chat with the campaign president, Esther Magedera. Clarissa's Campaign fundraises to give free heart screenings to students, and has become particularly well-known in the Cambridge sport community, of which the campaign's namesake, Clarissa Nicholls, was an active part. Clarissa sadly died in Paris on her MML Year Abroad due to an undiagnosed heart condition, and the campaign, started by her university friends Izzy and Jess, aims to ensure that conditions such as Clarissa's do not go undiagnosed. With the charity's founders having graduated and the campaign having provided heart screenings this term at the University Sports Centre, Anouk chats with Esther about where the campaign is going now - it's safe to say they're not slowing down any time soon, with new screening dates, commercial partnerships and events on the horizon. In a wide-ranging conversation, Anouk and Esther go in-depth into the ins and outs of the campaign, asking what the heart screening process is like, how the campaign works logistically and what "success" will look like.
