Senate Bill (SB) 0065 -- defines child neglect in a way that protects parents who allow their children to engage in independent activities: - Walking, running, or bicycling to and from school - Traveling to and from nearby commercial or recreational facilities - Engaging in outdoor play The law was a response to the "free-range kids" movement, which was launched by Lenore Skenazy after she let her 9-year-old son ride the subway home alone.
