Hello, and welcome back to Health in Wealth®. I am Ana Ramos… and I am really glad you are here. Today, I want to begin with a question we rarely slow down enough to ask. What does success actually require over time? Not the day you arrive. Not the moment something goes right. But the years in between. So much of what we are taught about success today focuses on the outcome. Visualize it. Manifest it. Push harder. But what is often missing from that conversation is the structure that has to exist underneath: The mindset that sustains effort. The discipline that does not come from punishment. And the relationship with the body that makes long-term success possible at all. That is why I find myself returning, again and again, to athletes. Not because they win But because they understand process. Athletes understand something deeply human: That growth involves discomfort. That failure is information. And that success is something you build... patiently, deliberately, and in partnership with your body. My guest today, Nelly Pineda, has spent decades working with athletes at the highest levels. And what emerged in our conversation is that the qualities athletes develop — mindset, intentional goals, and disciplined consistency — are not exclusive to sport. They are a universal life blueprint. They shape how we lead… How we work… How we relate to money… How we care for our health… And how we define success without abandoning ourselves along the way. This conversation is not about becoming an athlete. It is about learning what athletes can teach us about building a life that is strong enough to hold us. So… take a breath. Settle in. And let us explore the architecture of success together

Health in Wealth® Ep 28 - Stop Waiting Until You Feel Ready with Scout Cheeks

How many times have you told yourself, "I'll do it when I feel ready"? Whether it's a new role, a bold decision, a career move, or stepping into greater visibility, many of us wait for confidence, certainty, and perfect timing before we take action. But what if readiness isn't something that comes before the move? What if it comes because of it? In this episode of Health in Wealth®, Ana Ramos sits down with Scout Cheeks—elite rugby player, academic achiever, and purpose-driven professional—to explore what it means to move forward when life feels uncertain. Fresh from competing with the New York Exiles in their inaugural season, Scout shares her experience of balancing elite sport, career ambition, service, and personal growth while navigating new levels of responsibility and visibility. Together, Ana and Scout unpack: • Why fear often disguises itself as logic • The hidden cost of waiting for the "perfect" moment • How to recognise when an opportunity is calling you forward • The relationship between intuition, timing, and courage • What it means to take action before you feel fully ready This isn't a conversation about having all the answers. It's about trusting yourself enough to take the next step, even when the path ahead isn't completely clear. If you've been standing at the edge of a decision, waiting for confidence to arrive, this episode may be the nudge you've been looking for.

Health in Wealth® Ep 27 - The Masks we wear to Survive with Jane Stevenson

Hello, and welcome back to Health in Wealth®. I’m Ana Ramos… and I’m really glad you’re here. Let me start with a question we don’t ask ourselves often enough: Do we ever really know what’s going on in someone else’s life? We’re quick to judge. Quick to compare. Quick to assume everyone else is “fine.” And maybe that’s because most of us wear “fine” incredibly well. We show up. We perform. We lead. We smile. All while carrying things that never make it into conversation. There’s a version of you that the world sees. And then there’s the version of you that’s just trying to get through the day. What makes this harder is that so much of what we see—especially online—is an illusion. Carefully curated moments that rarely reflect the full truth of someone’s life, their health, their fear, or their exhaustion. My guest today, Jane Stevenson, knows this firsthand. Jane is a strategist, mentor, and leader with decades of experience—and she’s also someone who lived through something most people never knew. Six months before she walked a two-kilometer hike, Jane was told she might never walk again. What followed wasn’t just a physical recovery. It was a reckoning with the masks she wore to survive: Bravery to hide fear. Happiness to hide sadness. Strength to hide vulnerability. Energy to hide exhaustion. This conversation isn’t about taking the masks off before we’re ready. It’s about understanding why we wear them, what they protect, and what they quietly teach us about ourselves and others. If you’ve ever looked at someone else’s life and thought, They’re fine —Or if you’ve ever said I’m fine when you weren’t— This conversation is for you. So take a breath. Settle in. And let’s talk about the masks we wear

Health in Wealth® Ep 25 - Why Your Home Affects How You Feel | Neuroarchitecture, Stress + Nervous System Regulation

Have you ever walked into a space and felt your body instantly soften, or tense, without fully knowing why?  In this episode of Health in Wealth®, Ana Ramos speaks with Sarah Morrissey, founder of Cocoon Mode, about neuroarchitecture, the study of how our spaces shape the brain, body, nervous system, emotions, behavior, and cognition.  Together, Ana and Sarah explore how the home affects stress, sleep, focus, mood, and nervous system regulation. This is a conversation about moving beyond design trends and asking a more human question: how does this space support the person living inside it?  Sarah shares the four pillars of neuroarchitecture, why the home has become such an important part of modern well-being, and how simple routines such as creating an arrival ritual or winding down before bed can help the nervous system feel safer and more supported.  At its heart, this episode is an invitation to see the home as part of wealth being. A space that supports health, presence, recovery, clarity, and the rhythm of a more aligned life.  In This Episode  * What neuroarchitecture means and why it matters for modern well-being  * How your home affects stress, sleep, focus, mood, and nervous system regulation  * Why post-pandemic living changed the role of the home  * The difference between a beautiful home and a home that supports the body  * How lighting, clutter, sound, layout, and sensory input affect emotional regulation  * Why a calming home does not need to be perfect or expensive  * Simple nervous system practices for arriving home and winding down at night  Timestamps  00:00 Introduction: How our homes shape well-being  01:31 Welcome Sarah Morrissey to Health in Wealth®  02:42 Why the home affects sleep, mood, eating, stress, and the nervous system  04:16 What is neuroarchitecture?  05:42 From aesthetics to performance: How spaces support the body  07:19 Personal preference, minimalism, clutter, and nervous system response  08:47 Designing the home as a sanctuary  10:28 Ana’s personal story of creating a calming home  11:17 Why we should not have to leave home to feel restored  13:51 Creating one space for nervous system regulation  14:18 The four pillars of neuroarchitecture  16:46 Why your home does not need to be Instagram-ready  17:32 Structure, routine, and the organized mind  18:41 Why sanctuary is about nervous system response, not perfection  21:39 The home as the core of nervous system safety  23:17 Sarah’s story and the meaning behind Cocoon Mode  25:27 Sarah’s study of psychology, neuroscience, and design  27:04 Why neuroarchitecture belongs in everyday homes  29:11 Biohacks for calming the nervous system at home  30:12 The first 15 to 20 minutes after arriving home  30:55 Evening wind-down routines and sleep quality  34:19 Why design alone is not enough without behavior change  36:16 Final reflections with Sarah Morrissey  37:18 Closing reflection: The nervous system as the real client of design  About Health in Wealth®  Health in Wealth® is a podcast from Amida Wealth Advisors, hosted by Ana Ramos.  At Amida, we believe wealth is more than financial performance. Health in Wealth® Ep 24 - The Structure of Freedom with Patricia Ramirez

Hello, and welcome back to Health in Wealth®. I am Ana Ramos, and I am really glad you are here. Today’s conversation is for anyone who has felt the pull toward freedom and then found themselves standing in the unfamiliar space that follows. We talk a lot about leaving environments that no longer fit. Leaving the corporate path. Leaving predictability. Leaving identities that once made sense. What we talk about less is what happens afterward. The moment when freedom feels expansive and unsettling at the same time. When certainty falls away before anything new has taken its place. My guest today, Patricia Ramirez, is living inside that moment. She spent years building a successful career inside large institutions — law, finance, and global corporations — and then made the decision to step away. Not because she failed. But because the framework she was living inside no longer aligned. What followed was not clarity or relief. It was uncertainty. Financial questions. A shift in relationships. A loss of external validation. And the necessity of rebuilding rhythm, confidence, and identity in real time. What makes this conversation honest is that Patricia does not speak from resolution. She speaks from experience. From the middle. From a place where freedom still requires courage, structure, and daily choice. This episode is about what it means to leave the box, and what it actually takes to build a life that can hold that freedom. So take a breath. Settle in. And let us talk about the structure of freedom.
