Invisible First

God isn’t in the word, “God”.

“God” is a word we all know, but what if the word itself can become the hiding place for everything we’re afraid to face inside? We start with a simple line that opened a much bigger doorway: God is not in the word God. From there, we unpack why language, labels, and religious vocabulary can turn into containers we worship instead of signposts that point us back to inner life.  We talk Easter Sunday, Passover, and Resurrection Sunday through a different lens, asking why so many people can celebrate year after year with no real shift in consciousness. Then we press into the meaning of resurrection versus awakening, and how a community can define a word so strongly that it replaces the lived experience it was meant to describe. Living The Answer

Eight weeks away gave us enough space to hear what was really happening underneath our normal “we’re fine” rhythm. A single question from our earlier marriage vision conversation wouldn’t leave us alone: who are we, really? Not as roles, not as a husband and wife script, but as a union. And once we sat with it, we realized the tension we kept bumping into had a name. We unpack the difference between unity and union in marriage. Unity is agreement, cooperation, and shared plans. Union is shared life, one flesh, the body beneath all the legs. When we drift from union into unity-only living, we can still look functional while silently tolerating, filtering truth, and dimming our light to keep the peace. We talk about how big transitions, stress, and old expectations can quietly pull a couple out of oneness and into blame, fear, and dualism. Then we share what helped us find our way back: “invisible first” living, presence not performance. It’s not a new rulebook or a perfect model. It’s a daily practice of noticing without shame, coming back to stillness, and rebuilding a common ground where both people can bring their real selves.
