Here, I read the Bible slowly and ask the questions I didn’t know I was allowed to ask. I grew up Christian, eventually left the religion, and later realized I’d never actually examined the book for myself. I’m not a pastor or a theologian. Just a 28yr old girl who doomscrolls and wants to understand what this book actually says. This isn’t a faith podcast, and I’m not approaching the Bible as a believer. It’s a conversation, reading the Bible honestly and looking for answers in the text itself rather than just accepting what others tell me to understand. Believers and non, come on in!

I opened Matthew 1 and immediately skipped it. After a bit, I thought… hmm, I should probably go back. Girl, I am so glad I did. This episode covers only the first paragraph of Jesus’ genealogy, and it is full of Drama, outsiders, messy systems, and a Judah and Tamar situation I was not prepared for 👀 Come with me, as I deep dive into this giant list of names. I’m not approaching the Bible as a believer. I’m just reading the Bible slowly, asking questions, and reacting to what’s actually there. Join me! If something doesn’t sound right, tell me.
