RISE Tayo
A devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake recently struck parts of Mindanao, including General Santos City, Sarangani, and surrounding areas, leaving families grieving, communities shaken, and many asking difficult questions. Where is God in times like these? What does the Bible say about earthquakes? And what did Jesus mean when He spoke about earthquakes in the last days? In this episode of Rise Tayo, we take a biblical look at current events through the lens of Matthew 24, where Jesus warned that wars, famines, and earthquakes would be among the signs preceding His return. We discuss: 🇵🇭 The Philippines and its location on the Pacific Ring of Fire 🌋 Why our nation is one of the most disaster-prone countries in the world 📖 Jesus' teaching on earthquakes and the "beginning of birth pains" ⏳ The fragility of life and the reality of eternity ❤️ God's loving call to repentance ✝️ The difference between religion and a genuine relationship with Jesus Christ 🙏 The hope of the Gospel in an uncertain world This episode is not about fear, date-setting, or claiming that God is specifically judging a particular city or group of people. Instead, it is a reminder that life is fragile, tomorrow is not promised, and God's invitation to salvation is still available today. We also explore powerful passages including Matthew 24:6-8, Luke 13:1-5, Acts 3:19, 2 Peter 3:8-10, Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 10:9-13, and Revelation 3:20. If there is one lesson we can take from tragedies like this, it is this: The greatest tragedy is not that the ground beneath us can shake. The greatest tragedy is standing before God unprepared. At the end of this episode, I share a prayer of repentance, salvation, and hope for anyone who desires to return to God or surrender their life to Jesus Christ. 🎧 Listen, reflect, and share with someone who needs encouragement and truth today. After this episode, I challenge you to read Matthew 24, Luke 21, and 2 Peter 3 for yourself. Don't take my word for it. Open the Scriptures and see what Jesus said. " Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me." Revelation 3:20 NIV
