In the Manga, after Ruby faces off against his dad, Sapphire ends up drowning far above ground! Then, in the Anime we meet the Winstrates from the game, May gets a new Pokemon, Max meets a clone, and then it is time for a contest! Ruby and Shea find the journey to Gym 4 to be longer than anticipated as it loops around the goal and they even revisit some old places. They each meet the Teams they hadn't yet and the tensions between those teams seems to rise.
