Episode 20 - Radical Forgiveness

Forgiveness is something that everyone believes is a good idea, but it is hard when we try to put it into practice. True forgiveness for many can be a radical idea. Pastor Brian Zahnd is the author of the book Radical Forgiveness (the hardback version is Unconditional). In Episode 20 of Talks with God, Brian talks about why people have difficulty forgiving and why the Sermon on the Mount is central to forgiveness. Brian Zahnd is the founder and lead pastor of Word of Life Church in St. Joseph, Missouri. As the lead pastor, he is the primary preacher during our weekend services and oversees the church's direction. Pastor Brian is a passionate reader of theology and philosophy, an avid hiker and mountain climber, and an authority on all things Bob Dylan. He and his wife, Peri, have three adult sons and seven grandchildren. He is the author of several other books, including Beauty Will Save the World, A Farewell To Mars, Water To Wine, Sinners In The Hands Of A Loving God, Postcards From Babylon, and When Everything's On Fire.

Episode 19 - The Mind of Christ

Justin Amos is a father of three, a pastor by day and a YouTuber by night. He is currently pursuing a master's degree in clinical mental health counseling to become a licensed professional counselor. He created the YouTube channel called The Mind of Christ, which is dedicated to providing educational content related to mental and emotional health from a Christian perspective. Episode 18 - St. Joseph Christian

More Christian families are seeking a truth-based education. St. Joseph Christian's enrollment has increased by 188 students in 5 years. They are at capacity in several grade levels. A biblical worldview education is vital to point students to Christ in a world that is moving further from Him every day. Because of this, they need to expand now to maximize the impact of SJCS on future generations. The Nehemiah 2.0 Project expansion will accommodate the growth the Lord is providing and allow SJCS to enhance current programs. In Episode 18 of Talks With God, I sat down with Danny Maggart, Co-Superintendent and High School Principal, to talk about the history of St. Joseph Christian, the Nehemiah 2.0 Project and where SJCS is headed in the future.

Episode 17 - Herzog Foundation

Dr. Darrell Jones serves as President of the Stanley M. Herzog Charitable Foundation. Darrell was the first hire of the Herzog Foundation in January 2021. Since the foundation began operation, the staff has created several initiatives to advance K-12 Christ-centered education across the United States. Among these initiatives are The Lion (readlion.com) - an award-winning Christian Education News site; The Herzog Foundation Institute - providing Christian School Training & Conferences, created to share best practices in Christian School management from national thought leaders; and SchoolBox - an online platform created to aid in launching Christian schools across the country. In the fall of 2023, they will launch 68 new Christian Schools in 34 states. Darrell received a B.A. in Speech Communications from Missouri Western State University. He received Master of Divinity, and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Nazarene Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri. Darrell and his wife Tammie have 3 grown daughters, 3 wonderful sons in law, and 10 grandchildren.

Episode 16 - The Authority of Jesus

Jesus had just ridden through the Nazareth on a donkey on Palm Sunday with the crowds shouting "Hosanna to the Son of David!" The whole city was asking the question, “Who is he?” The crowds answered him, saying he was the prophet Jesus from Nazareth. After this, Jesus entered the temple and drove out the money changers. Jesus was causing quite a stir in Jerusalem. However, two groups were not so thrilled about what Jesus was doing. The Pharisees and the Sadducees questioned the Authority of Jesus. Episode 16 explores how Jesus addressed their question.
