Anne is adjunct Faculty at Boston University’s Questrom School of Business. She also teaches with Everyrealm Academy and Singularity Group, teaching global leaders how exponential technologies can solve problems that impact over a billion people. She has been an active part of the global blockchain community since 2012. She previously worked with Doctors Without Borders Canada in Central African Republic and the Democratic Republic of Congo, and served on their board of directors. Merging her two passions, Anne is currently writing a graphic novel about blockchain for east African readers. Anne has a Bachelor of Life Sciences from Queen’s University, an MBA from McMaster University, and is certified in Strategic Disruption from Harvard Business School. She was honoured as one of CBC’s 12 Young Leaders Changing Canada and one of the Fifty Most Inspirational Women in Technology in Canada.

Web3, DAOs and the future of education with Oxford Internet Institute Student Liam Bekirsky

Incentives, equity and protest in a web3 world Liam is a doctoral student at the Oxford Internet Institute whose research focuses on communities of practice, from hobby and amateur groups to professional networks, which often use digital technologies to organise their knowledge-making activities. His research looks at how the representation of these communities through data visualisation alters how the members of the communities perceive the dynamics in the group. His work is at the intersection of sociology and network analysis, knowledge mobilisation, user experience design, and education. Prior to joining the OII, Liam completed a dual Master’s degree at Sciences Po Paris in Digital and New Technology and Public Policy and in Global Affairs at the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at the University of Toronto. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in History and French Studies at Glendon College, York University, in Toronto, where he also completed his training and certification as a high school teacher (BEd). Outside of academia, he has worked in education policy as an intern at the OECD’s Centre for Educational Research and Innovation (CERI), and as an analyst in education data and research at the Council of Ministers of Education, Canada (CMEC). He has also been a researcher on the Globally Networked Learning [https://yorkinternational.yorku.ca/gnl-2/] and Bilingual Open Educational Resources [https://yorkinternational.yorku.ca/bilingual-open-educational-resources/] projects at York University.
