16 - Making Sunshine for the Journey: A Conversation About Adoption and Belonging
My guest David Bohl shares thoughts about his experience with being relinquished and adopted when he was a baby. He gives adults who have any connection to a child that has been adopted a thoughtful perspective which comes from his own life and also his work as a therapist. David also shares activities and experiences that have given him a sense of belonging throughout his life and how meaningful it is to be a new grandparent. He has published a memoir, Parallel Universes: The Story of Rebirth and co-written a book, Relinquishment and Addiction: What Trauma Has to Do With It along with Jamie Marich, PhD. 15 - Making Sunshine for the Journey: Transformation Toolbox Calendar
In this episode Santiago interviews me about a self-care calendar which I created when my kids were young. It helps me become more aware of the experiences which brought peace, joy, and happiness to my day and helps me think about how to create more of those experiences in days ahead. I've used this concept for over ten years, and it has made a big difference. I'm sharing it with you in case this idea might help you embrace what is uniquely special about this busy season of life.
14 - Making Sunshine for the Journey - The One and Only Byron Jackson
My guest today is Byron Jackson, a dad of four and grandfather of eleven. He is also the Executive Director of Possibilities Inc., a non-profit organization based in Oklahoma City. They do many things to make our city better, but one of the big ones is helping individuals gain personal and interpersonal skills needed to work well with others. Basically they help people be the light they wish to see in the world. Possibilities, Inc. also created a community podcast platform named Breaking Ice, Building Bridges. You can find all the podcasts they sponsor, including The Ready Set Go Show, at buildingbridgesokc.org [https://buildingbridgesokc.org]
Piano Fun: The High C Note
The C Scale has seven notes, but when you play scales on the piano you add the next note and play a total of eight. With this podcast you will be able to play and sing the whole C-Scale song with lyrics and note names. If you missed the other Piano Fun podcasts, then go back and listen to them in order so that its easier to learn the song and the C Scale. The notes are building blocks to writing your own songs and learning how to play others! Have fun deciding what to learn next.
