Lessons from wild horses- A conversation with Carina Maiwald, award-winning equine photographer

In this episode Carina Maiwald talks to me about her own journey into the wild in the company of free horses,  shedding the skin of her old self as an acclaimed and multi-award-winning equine photographer. She shares some marvelous insights into what wild horses can teach us about ourselves as artists and the creative process. We  also talk about authenticity and how to show up authentically on social media as artists and why it's okay to step into certain roles in the process. Spinning the creative wheel - Interview with author and book coach Emily Tamayo Maher

In this Episode I am fortunate to have US-born author and book coach Emily Tamayo Maher as my interview guest. Her book "The Meaning Method" provides a spiritual path to writing and publishing for aspiring authors. She talks to me about what led her to link the system of the chakras to the art of writing. We also touch upon the importance of curiosity in the creative process, the difference between traditional ideas of coaching and coaching for artists- and many other inspiring topics. 5 observations how to keep your new creative space sacred

When we come (back) to art at a later stage in our lives, the game is a little different compared to that of a young person. Imagine a child walking up to an adult proudly showing a newly drawn scribble of a drawing-chances are high that it will be praised for it rather than criticised. Now imagine yourself walking up to your next door neighbour or your colleagues at work with your freshly painted picture and all your insecurities of whether or not this is good enough-  reactions are likely to be a little different. When we have only just  rediscovered art for ourselves we need to be careful with who we share it with. And we need to be careful when we bump into old versions of ourselves, they might not wish us only the best on our new journey. episode How you can honour your non-creative past artwork

How you can honour your non-creative past

Do you feel like you have wasted huge chunks of your past life because you were not creative? Are you regretting the many days, weeks, months and years you put off making art because there is so much you could have achieved in the meantime? When we come back to art at a later stage in our life it is so easy to condemn ourselves for all the things we did not do. Things we missed out on, opportunities we led pass by. It is very easy to beat yourself up over this, but it is certainly far from helpful for your next steps as the creative soul you are. In this episode I share with you some tipps and rituals how you can honour your non-creative past. Integrating our pasts in all aspects of life is crucial to our healing process. And if you hurt because of your non written stories, your unpainted pictures, your unsung songs, because of all the art you did not make- it is time to begin integrating that past and see it for what it truly is: the necessary process of your unique artistic journey. episode Finding your wild creative self again artwork

Finding your wild creative self again

So you are an artist? Wow, that's impressive.  What do you create, can I see it? If you cringe at the first question and fall silent at the second one: No worries, I got you. This Podcast got you because it is made for you, the wild creative soul that got caught and tamed along life's journey. The creative soul that lost touch with the inner wild of unlimited possibilities and freedom to expression- maybe only recently,  perhaps also decades ago. In this very first episode I am telling you a bit about myself, where I come from both in terms of my own story as well as my creative life and how I relate to the topic of wild creativity. I am untangling a few non-functional narratives that I told myself for many years- and firmly believed them! There are many more I am going to untangle in the future.  This is the beginning. Enjoy!
