What are your favorite summer activities? Are you into water sports, hiking, barbecuing, checking out roller coasters, maybe playing some frisbee or disc golf? If you said yes to that last one – did you know that you could go pro? Professional disc golfers are heading to the World Disc Golf Championships later this summer, and we’ll hear all about it. Maybe outdoor activities aren’t your thing, and you prefer a nice, air-conditioned movie theater with some buttery popcorn and a big slushie. You may have noticed that your options for that experience are shrinking, as movie theaters close across the U.S. Featuring audio from WWJ Newsradio in Detroit and , the Dana & Parks Show out of KMBZ in Kansas City.

The Lafon Performing Arts Center's mission is to give students access to an expansive arts program

In Luling, the Lafon Performing Arts Center has built a one-of-a-kind program that brings Broadway-level training to St. Charles Parish schools. Students have access to an expansive arts program, from theater to ceramics to broadcasting, as well as professional mentorship from seasoned artists. Fully integrated into the school day, the program helps students develop creativity, confidence, teamwork, and preparation for future careers in the arts.
