Ep 39: Child Hot Car Deaths: The Pattern Behind These Tragedies — And How to Prevent Them

Since 1998, more than 1,000 children in the United States have died in hot cars, and most of these tragedies follow just a few repeating patterns. In today’s episode, we look at the three most common circumstances behind child hot car deaths:  • Children forgotten by caregivers  • Children intentionally left in vehicles  • Children who gained access to vehicles on their own Through the stories of Sofia Aviero, Ke’torrius “KJ” Starkes Jr., Sydney Stanley, Kameron Jamel Williams, Amillio Gutierrez, and Parker Scholtes, we’ll look at what happened, what experts say may contribute to these tragedies, and most importantly, practical prevention strategies that could help save lives. Ep 38: Found in 1979. Identified 40 Years Later: The Kerry Graham & Francine Trimble Case

Two teenage girls vanished from a small Northern California town in 1978. Seven months later, their remains were found just 90 miles away, but no one realized who they were. Because investigators believed they were searching for a teenage boy and girl, Kerry Graham and Francine Trimble would remain unidentified for nearly 40 years. This is their story. Ep 37: Anna Kepner Case Update: Indicted as an Adult in Federal Court

A major legal development has occurred in the case of Anna Kepner, the 18-year-old who died during a family cruise in November 2025. In this update, I walk through the newly announced federal indictment, what it means that the case has been transferred to adult prosecution, and what we know so far about how the case will move forward. I also explain the earlier sealed proceedings and how this new development fits into the timeline of the investigation. Because this case involves a minor and previously sealed court records, many details have only recently become public. This episode focuses on confirmed information from official statements and court filings, without speculation. Ep 36: Jonathan Hoang Never Leaves Without Permission — Until That Night

21-year-old Jonathan Hoang disappeared from his home in Arlington, Washington on March 30, 2025. Jonathan is on the autism spectrum and developmentally functions closer to an 8-9 year old child. His family says he follows strict routines, asks permission before doing even small things, and had never left home without telling anyone. But sometime between that evening and the next morning, Jonathan left his home without his jacket, without his phone, and without telling his family. Three months later, surveillance footage surfaced 40 miles away in Kirkland, Washington showing someone who appears to be Jonathan, walking alone late at night and looking lost. His family is still searching for answers. They believe someone knows what happened.
