Ce qui nous [dé]lie

Ce qui nous [Dé]lie parle de tricot. Le tricot comme savoir faire que des générations de femmes se sont transmis les unes aux autres; le tricot de nos aïeules face aux tricot des jeunes d'aujourd'hui et enfin, le tricot comme le lien que l'artiste entretient avec sa grand-mère afin de nous raconter leurs histoires respectives. Réunissant narration, témoignages et création sonore, ce podcast est une œuvre à part entière qui dialogue avec une performance artistique.  Lors de cette performance, l'artiste Marcy Petit détricote sur scène une robe rouge précédemment tricotée, jusqu'à ce qu'il n'en reste rien d'autre qu'une toile d'araignée rouge. Par cette alliance de l'audio et du visuel, l'œuvre finale se veut une réminiscence ainsi qu'une remise en question de cet héritage légué par nos aïeules. What [un]tangles us is about knitting. Knitting as a skill that generations of women have passed on to each other. Knitting as the way our grandmothers were using this craft compared to the way we do today. Finally, knitting is the link that bonds the artist to her grandmother as a way to tell us their respective stories. Together with narratives, testimonials and sound creation, What [un]tangle us is a podcast and an artistic performance produced by the artist Marcy Petit with the collaboration of the sound designer Fabien Bourlier in 2022. Along with the podcast, What [un]tangles us is also a visual performance, where the artist Marcy Petit, wears and unknits a red dress on stage until there is nothing left.  The podcast exists also in French language, under the name Ce qui nous [dé]lie The performance is available on Vimeo.
