Episode 3: The EIC Journey and Findings

In today’s episode, we’re diving into the work of the Effective Implementation Cohort (EIC)—a multi-partner initiative at NIRN focused on strengthening district systems to support the effective use of evidence-based practices. I’m joined by Dr. Ximena Franco-Jenkins, Dr. Megan Bookhout, and Yolanda Perkins from NIRN, along with partners from Guilford County Schools and TNTP, to explore how this cohort is using implementation science to drive meaningful, sustainable change. Together, we’ll discuss the goals of the project, what districts are learning through the process, and how collaboration across research, practice, and technical assistance is shaping real-world impact. Episode 2: Moving from Data Collect to Use

In our last episode, we had the privilege of speaking with Dr. Chimoabli Amutah about the fit and feasibility of selective evidence-based practices (EBPs). It was a deep dive into the critical considerations for ensuring that interventions align with local needs, resources, and capacity. Today, we’re picking up right where we left off—this time focusing on data collection and use in implementation. How do we gather meaningful data? How can organizations move beyond compliance-driven data collection to actually using data for continuous improvement and decision-making? Dr. Amutah brings his expertise to these pressing questions, offering insights on practical strategies, common pitfalls, and what it takes to create a data culture that drives sustainable change.
