Despite the intention to end the series with The Final Chapter, after Paramount saw the box office, they quickly decided to crank out another sequel that would hit theaters less than a year later, but they wanted to take things in a new direction. But could the series survive without its titular villain? Would audiences still care about Tommy Jarvis? Did the director's hardcore XXX roots rub off - so to speak - on this production? Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter

With the slasher craze beginning to dwindle and producers wanting to pursue other projects as we approached the mid 80s, the decision was made to bring Friday the 13th to an end with Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter. Of course we know it wasn't actually the final chapter, but would it have been a good ending for Jason? Could Tommy have carried on the Mayhem?
