Greetings Listeners, This is Berkley Roth, Welcome to The Coyote Den.
The Coyote survives, strategically among the dominant culture. Using Witt and intelligence to exist amongst a threatening society. The Coyote is a symbol of the strength and determination inherent in the natural expression of life, regardless of the misinformed cultural belief systems that feel the need to control the land and its life forms in order to suit the colonial delusion. The coyote can not be domesticated, and remains truly wild and free. Allow The Coyote Den to be a an underground refuge for all thinkers. A philosophical safe space for the cultural underground. Let this be a home for independent thinkers, theorizers and action takers. Habit breakers and novelty makers. We share the responsibility to co-create an ethical and sustainable future. I would like to show my respect for the land from which this podcast, and it’s ideas emerged. I am a creature of the prairies and have made my existence on the traditional territories of the Blackfoot confederacy. In order to help me properly acknowledge the land, I have invited Tapisa Kilabuk, an indigenous advocate, activist for institutional change and an instigator of cultural transformation. She is also the mother of my three children and my lovely wife.

"In the spirit of respect, reciprocity and truth, we honour and acknowledge Moh’kinsstis and the traditional Treaty 7 territory and oral practices of the Blackfoot confederacy: Siksika, Kainai, Piikani as well as the Îyâxe Nakoda and Tsuut’ina nations. We acknowledge that this territory is home to the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3 within the historical Northwest Métis homeland. Finally, we acknowledge all Nations, indigenous and non, who live, work and play and help us steward this land, honour and celebrate this territory. This sacred gathering place provides us with an opportunity to engage in and demonstrate leadership on reconciliation. Thank you for your enthusiasm and commitment to join our team on the lands of Treaty 7 territory."
