Episode 15 of The Good Enough Human podcast: A Men's Health Week special

In this episode of The Good Enough Human lifestyle podcast, co-hosts Angela Ferguson and Paul Crofts present a Men’s Health Week 2021 special. Men’s Health Week runs from 14-21 June and this year the focus is on men’s mental health. They are joined on the podcast by North Wales and Chester-based singer songwriter and health practitioner Gareth Howatson and mental health campaigner Dan Rowe, who share their stories and their advice in terms of mental health. Trigger warning: This podcast does involve discussion about men’s mental health, including suicide. Dan Rowe, who hails from North East Wales but is now based in the Manchester area, has set up two branches of the Andy's Man Club charity in Manchester and Altrincham. He has helped set up a special support group for men’s mental health attached to Wrexham FC, called Dragon Chat. Both organisations offer peer support for men in terms of their mental health. Anyone who may be affected by any of the issues raised in this episode is encouraged to contact an organisation like The Samaritans, which runs a free 24 hour helpline on 116 123 or they can be emailed via jo@samaritans.org [jo@samaritans.org]. This episode was produced and edited by Angela Ferguson, with music from Dr Stephen Kenyon-Owen.
