Descripción

Washington operates on the base assumption that the greatest threat to the United States is China (more specifically, the Chinese Communist Party). Not Russia, not Islamic Terrorism. China. But why is that?  The Parliament makes confusing global geopolitics and American national security accessible.   In this episode, Darion invites Heritage Foundation National Security and Indo-Pacific Affairs Policy Analyst, Andrew Harding to the show. Darion and Andrew discuss the who, what, when, where, and why of the Chinese Threat, and importantly, how the US can win. For decades, China played the long game and slowly seized control of markets, supply chains, and influence around the world. They did this under the nose of the United States. Now, we live in a world where China is boldly throwing their weight around to directly challenge the United States as the world superpower.   If you want to follow more of what we are doing in the National Security space at Heritage, sign up for our biweekly newsletter (I promise it’s a newsletter you’ll actually want to read): https://www9.heritage.org/Davis-Dispatch-Newsletter_Subscription-Page.html [https://www9.heritage.org/Davis-Dispatch-Newsletter_Subscription-Page.html]

More Nukes? | Bob Peters

After the Cold War, America and its allies acted to reduce the proliferation and existence of nuclear weapons around the world, halting our own production and development. But our enemies did not. Instead, Russia and China set out to rapidly develop modern nuclear arsenals that out maneuver our own dated, rigid stockpile. Our credible strategic deterrence of our enemies is waning, fast.   The Parliament makes confusing global geopolitics and American national security accessible.   In this episode, Darion invites Heritage Foundation Nuclear Expert, Bob Peters to the show. Darion and Bob discuss how we fell so far behind in modernizing our nuclear arsenal, and why that is an existential threat. The bottom line: peace through strength does not stop at nukes.

Chaos or Strategy? | Episode 1

The Parliament makes confusing global geopolitics and American national security digestible. Not just acronyms but explanations. In this episode, Darion invites Heritage Foundation Vice President of National Security Victoria Coates to the show. Darion and Dr. Coates discuss everything from the military operations in Iran to global energy supply and demand, the Palestinians, China (of course), and even owls. We learn about how Iran is just a part of the global grand strategy of President Trump, and what the day-after can look like.
