Episode 9 of Solved Saturday, but is this really solved? What do you do when your child leaves to study abroad and all of a sudden you find out that, while there, he had died under very confusing circumstances that just don't seem to match up to the evidence at all? In a country that has put America on its list of Unfriendly countries? In other words, they don't like us. That is what happened in the case of Colin Madsen. While studying at the Irkutsk State Linguistic University in Russia, Colin very suddenly and mysteriously dies while on a hiking trip with 3 friends. Through his Mother, Dana's, determination she uncovers what looks to be blatant corruption, lies and a cover up on the end of the Russian Authorities. The US government tells her that they have no jurisdiction and cannot help her in any way. Is this just irrational thoughts of a grieving mother? Or is Colin's death a cover up? I'll leave that for you to decide. But, I think once you hear the details and evidence of Colin's case, you will be shocked. This is part 1 of 2.
The *Living The Lyrics* series episode 1 focuses on the life death and career of Rapper PnB Rock. This episode goes over Rakim Allen's early life and the struggles that motivated his music aspirations, it will detail his musical success and breakdown the heartbreaking and unbelievably, unnecessary and violent death and robbery in a well known restaurant in Los Angeles. A post that was put up on his girlfriends IG that tagged their location began a back and forth over whether or not it was safe to put up locations if you are a person of reputation and means. When is it ok to wear all the jewelry if your out just running errands? Should the record labels hold life insurance on some of their artists? Is it the labels responsibility to provide security for their artists? What happens if their is not a will in place? In the event of a crime or homicide, California(and most other States, if not all) require that an autopsy be done. In the case of PnB Rock that went against his religious beliefs. We go over all these questions and the details of the actual crime itself and what happened to the people involved in the murder/robbery? A bit of a spoiler... it's a whole family event. So, come and join me on this breakdown of the life, death and career of PnB Rock.
Carlee Russell was officially sentenced for her crimes of false reporting. In July of 2023 Carlee called 911 at 9:34p and a family members girlfriend just minutes after calling the police and claimed that a toddler was walking alone along the highway. While on the phone with the family members girlfriend, Carlee screams and the line goes dead. Police arrive on the scene within minutes to find Carlee's car and personal belongings but, no Carlee. They also do not find an abandoned toddler nor was there any current reports of missing children in the area. 49 hours later Carlee resurfaces at her parents. Gives police her story. And quite a story it was. The police were unable to verify any part of the statement that she gave other than Carlee was on the I-459 highway at 9:30pm the night of July 13th, 2023. Pretty quickly it came out that Carlee was lying and had made up the entire thing to get an ex boyfriends attention... yes, unfortunately you read that correctly. This episode will go over the Hoover PD's investigation, what led to Carlee's charges, her arrest, plea bargain and sentencing. We will also cover the effects that her false reporting had on her community and potentially how it could effect missing woman reports in the future. A little over 25 years ago Paul Skiba heads out to work with his employee Lorenzo Chivers, bringing his 9 year old daughter along with him. It was Paul's weekend to have his visitation with Sarah and sometimes he brought her to work with him. And she loved to going to work with her Dad. This particular weekend was a tough one for Paul. He had told his long time on/off again girlfriend that this time it was off for good and she had to leave his house by Sunday night before he got home from work. But, Paul never came home after work that Sunday night and Sarah was never taken back to her mothers house either. Lorenzo never made it back to his either. All 3 were missing. Seemingly they vanished, disappearing without a trace. If you expected the Police to jump in and help... well... you would definitely be disappointed. The police didn't take any of their disappearances seriously. They assumed that Paul had taken off with Sarah to go "joy riding" and he would bring her back eventually. No mention of where Lorenzo would be. When bullet holes and blood were found on one of the moving trucks and pieces of scalp with hair still attached were found on another of the Moving Trucks, (this one driven by Paul that Sunday) the police were still completely unconcerned. The bullet holes probably happened during a road rage incident. Even though no such incident had been reported and the truck didn't even have an engine. The blood was probably just a cut or a nosebleed. Besides, they were sure that this wasn't even their jurisdiction (it was). So, a lot of valuable time was wasted and vital evidence was compromised or just lost completely. Both men's personal vehicles were missing. Eventually, the evidence was so compelling and there was so much of it, that the Police HAD to get involved. This is just the barely scraping the top of the barrel of everything that went down with the case. A legal battle for Paul's business takes place, a baby that Paul wasn't even sure was his when he disappeared is now involved, the girlfriend he was kicking out comes forward and claims to be his wife all while all 3 of these amazing people are still missing. Last month was the 25th anniversary of their disappearances. It is still Unsolved and unbelievably cold. Join me for Part 2 of the story of Paul and Sarah Skiba and Lorenzo Chivers. ** If you like what I am doing and want to support my work and the TCC Podcast here is a link to buy me a cup of coffee.
