Enemies Reconciled to God

This is a re-recording of Sunday's sermon, as the pastor forgot to wear his mic! 😅 God's love isn't fair — and that's exactly the point. This sermon on Romans 5:6–15 traces the scandalous logic of the Gospel: Christ died for sinners, enemies, and lost causes while they were still hostile to Him, which means grace is as widespread as death and no one is beyond its reach. And then it gets worse — because God now loves those same people through you.

Faith Counted as Righteousness

True righteousness is not achieved by human effort or adherence to the law, but is received solely as a gift through faith. While the divine Law is good and outlines the perfect design for creation, it lacks the power to save, serving instead to expose and condemn human sin. True restoration occurs when believers trust in the promises of God, who brings life from the dead. Like Abraham, who believed against hope, individuals are credited with righteousness through faith in Jesus. This unmerited grace reconciles humanity to the Creator, breaking the grip of despair and empowering a life of true purpose as divine heirs.

In His Image (Holy Trinity Sunday)

God created man and woman to uniquely His Image, reflecting a perfect, righteous relationship with the Creator and all creation. Though this original harmony was undone by sin, Jesus' Great Commission in Matthew 28 operates as a new creation event. Through the gifting of the Triune name—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—in Baptism, we are completely restored to eternal life, holy alignment, and Divine favor. Bearing the Image of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit means we are disciples learning to live in perfect sync with His Divine character, resisting worldly distractions, and faithfully stewarding our vocations to reflect  His love, sacrifice, and holiness to the world.

Living Water (Pentecost)

Pentecost reveals the profound spiritual reality of the Holy Spirit as dynamic, life-giving water. Human souls frequently experience spiritual dehydration, wandering through the difficult wilderness of sin, anxiety, and moral emptiness. True refreshment cannot be found in worldly pursuits; it is found exclusively in Christ. By placing faith in Jesus, believers receive the poured-out gift of the Holy Spirit, which permanently quenches internal thirst and cleanses from sin. This divine presence does not remain stagnant; it transforms the heart into a spring of living water, flowing outward through words of grace and acts of love to nourish a broken world.

In The Trenches

True comfort stems from the unwavering assurance that the Creator deeply cares for His people—a truth fully demonstrated through the crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension. Though an adversary seeks to discourage and instill despair, believers do not fight on the losing side. Supported by a community of faith and the God of all grace, Christians are ultimately sustained by the victorious reality that Christ remains in charge.
